Pressure is being brought to bear on the Dominion Government to take steps 1o prevent, if possible, the construction by Americans of a waterway from Lake Michigan to the Ohio river. In the House of Commons George Cockburn, member for Toronto, asked the Government to act with the Chambers of Commerce in Cleveland and other American cities in protecting the interests of the lake cities.
