HOW RENSSELAER IS GROWING.
A Brief Summary of Present Building Operations. Although Rensselaer has had a steady, solid growth every year, yet the present year is showing more activity in the building line than any time since the early part of 1893. A brief mention of the different buildings already completed this spring, or now in’some stage of erection, will illustrate the truth of this statement. In this list we mention only the buildings completed or under way; nothing being said of those only contracted for, or under contemplation. Following is the list: Iroquois Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows: Three story brick business office, and lodge building, on Washington street. E. L. Hollingsworth; two room business building, on Van Rensselaer street.
John Eger; two story residence on Van Rensselaer street. Also a tenant house on Cornelia street. P. W. Clarke; two story residence in Newton’s Addition. A. Rosenbaum, residence on Van Rensselaer street. Mrs. Leota Jones, residence on Front street. John Makeever, tenant house on Division street. Paxton and Hollingsworth, two tenant houses in Leopold’s Addition. John Carmichael, residence in Weston’s Addition. Mrs. Julia Day, residence in Columbia Addition. The above list shows 22 dwellings and two business houses completed or in construction and says nothing of various minor improvements, completed or now under way, some of which will equal in cost the construction of new houses of considerable size, such as the rebuilding of T.
