Building Notes.
Ira Cripps is building a residence Mrs. Leota Jones has a neat and commodious one story residence nearing completion, on Front street, north of the Rensselaer Mill. * P. W. Clarke, the jeweler’s house inNewton’s Addition, is well under way. It will be a good residence, costing SI2OO to SI4OO. John Eger Whas moved into the house he lately bought of Mrs. Morgan, as a temporary residence,, while his new house is building, on the site of his old place, on Van Rensselaer street. The house he is proposing to build will, without doubt, be the best residence built in town this season. The plans have been prepared by a city architect. It will be a large and handsome residence and have all the modern conveniences. Another fine residence to go up at once, is that of S. M, Laßue, just across the river. It also will be a large and attractive structure, and up to date in the matter of conveniences. Mr. Cox, our young resident architect, prepared the plans and specifications. John Makeever’s tenant house on Division street, near Al. Catt’s place, is well towards completion, and is quite an addition to that portion of the town. »
W. T.Perkins is building a small house, j ust north of his residence. JW. B. Austin is building a tenant house in Weston’s Addition. Mr. Mehanna is building a resiidenc a , some distance north of the railroad. August Rosenbaum his the foundtion in for a good residence, on Cullen street, south of Lew Day’s place. Del Thornton is building a house in Columbia Addition. Leander Hascall, of Mt. Ayr, has bought lots in Magee & Benj imin’s Addition, and intends to build and occupy a house thereon. Dt. M. B. Alter is rebuilding and and enlarging his residence, corner Vanßensselaerand Rut son Sts, Peter Hordeman, west of town, is building a new house, to replace the one burned a month or two ago, T. J. McCoy will greatly enlarge and practically rebuild his residence on McCoy Avenue, beginning operations in a short time.
