A New Burk’s Bridge. The County Commissioners held a special session, Tuesday, to let the contract for a new bridge over the Iroquois river, four miles north of town, at what is now called Burk’s bridge. The place being a celebrated quagmire, and the hardest place to build and maintain a bridge in the county. The contract was let to John Hack, the well known contractor of Lowell. It will be a pile bridge, 300 feet long, and the contract price is $2,150. It is to be completed by June Ist.. Geo. W. -Burk is appointed superintendent. The other bidders were D. H. Yeoman at $2,230, and C. C. Sigler, at $2,193.
