Alaska and the Fur Seal.
Opera House, Tuesday evening, Feb. 19th. An illustrated lecture by Dr. B. W. Everman, of the United States Fish Commission. Dr. Everman is one of the leading naturalists in this country, and probably has a better knowledge than anyone else, of the seal and its habits. He spent many months in Alaska and the North Pacific, on the United States Steamer Albatross, in collecting evidence for the Board of Arbitration in the Bering Sea difficulty. While thns engaged, hundreds of photographs of seals, seal rookeries, the inhabitants, and the scenery. A most excellent series of stereoptican slides has been prepared from these, and will be used to illustrate tne lecture. It is to be given in the interest of the school library, and should be well patronized. Dr. Everman is a most pleasant speaker, and everyone will enjoy hearing him.
