Mias Anna Derschell who.who was called to Michigan to nurse her mother through a siege of typhoid fever returned to her school duties this week, leaving her mother convalescing very’ slowly. • Miss Mary Price of Hartford City, Ind., visited relatives and friends last week.

Mrs. Addie Gros, of Delphi, who visited Miss M. P. Bolles last week, returned to her home Monday. Mrs. Ica Morrisentertainedft number of her friends Friday. Mrs. C. M. Shaw returned home Friday. « ' . Bert Shepherd spent New Year’s week at home. Geo. Shawl was thrown against a box car last week and seriously hurt about the head and shoulders by his team becoming frighted by a bale tiff hay falling on him. .

Mrs. Wm. Green returned home from her Ohio visit Wednesday. Fred Burger took a relapse from his illness and has been very sick the last week. Mr. and Mrs. Burger who were in Ohio at the time, returned home Thursday, as he would not allow them to be sent for sooner. At present writing he is improving again. Jesse Bond returned to the Cincinnati Dental College, Monday. The G. A. R. open installation and supper for Mesdames G. A. R’s. was a very interesting event, and much' enjoyed by those present; Miss Ollie Henricks returned to her home Friday. Miss Flo will remain another week.

Mr. John Hollett and family have gone to 111., to attend the goiden wedding of Mrs. Hollett’s parents, Mn and Mrs. Shilling. It is rumored that there is a genuine case of leprosy in Jasper county and not many miles from Remington. We sincerely hope that it is a false report. The week of prayer will be observed as usual, Monday and Tuesday evenings at the Christian church. Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Presbyterian church and the the balance °f the week at the M. Mrs. Thomas McMurr&j is on the stek list this week. —Mr. Besse and feinily now occupy the Williams..property, recently vacated by Mr. Hodshije.
