GILLAM ITEMS.
The schools of Gillam have closed for the holidays. Edward Mason and Schuyler Robinson have returned home to spend the holidays. Quite a number of the young people are intending to attend the Christmas entertainment in Barkley tp., this, (Mon lay) evening. L. H. Hamilton, of Kniman, spent Sunday in Gillam. C. C. Richardson traded his farm for property in Medaryville, and expects to move there in the near future.
Mattie Fans and Bi Ila Osborne have closed their schools during holidays and are spending their vacation at home.
Mrs. Samuel Elliot has been very sick but is improving slowly. James Richardson,one of our Gillam boys and Miss Wood, of Frances- 1 i ville, weie married last week. The pro 1 ted meeting which has been in progress foi the last three weeks at Gillam school house closed I last Sunday night. The cards are out for the marriage 1 of Miss Millie Robinson to Charles 1 H. Guild and Miss Florence Robinson to Wm. A. Faris, next Thursday evening, Dec 27,at 7 o’clock. • , Rev. T. J. Sawyer, pastor of the { M. E. church will begin a protracted I meeting at Independence Chapel next' Thursday evening, Dec. 27.
Mr. Pay ton, of Illinois, has been visiting friends in Gillam the past w**t, and Incidentally looking over G fford s ranch. He contemplates m >ving on one Of Gifford’s farms next spring. Mr. John Martin, of Union tp., were married atjhe residence of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Nash, last Sunday evening. Frank Osborne spent Christmas in Valparaiso.
