Wearing Wooden Socks.

Philadelphia Call. “Did you ever see a pair of woodeh stockings?” asked a prominent stocking manufacturer. “No? Well, you just come up to my mill some time, and I’ll Show you a pair that were woven from wood pulp and wool, and I will gamble that you cannot tell the difference between them and an ordinary stocking. “My idea is that before long they will come into general use. I think that they will prove a fcreat boon to the public, as they will be very serviceable. How are they made? the wood pulp is dissolved very finely, and then it is woven in with the woolen yarn. This is the way that wooden stockings are made.”
