Caught at Last.

The professional horse thief who stole a team and rig from J. F. Jhff, the livery man some time early last 1 spring, has at last been caught and is now in jail at Crowx. Point. He was arrested on Tuesday night! of last week, at a farm house near j Chicago Heights, IlLiby Commission tr Bernhardt Scheldt, of Lake Co., whose home is at Si John’s, and who wanted him for stealing a fine driv ing team, valued at S4OO. He gavehis name as A. L.;. Allen and is about 60 or 65 years old. He was taken to Crown Point and lodged in jail, and he then acknowledged the whereabouts of Mr, S'jheidt’s team, wh'jgh was near Milwaukee, Wis., and also of quite a number of other teams,., at the same place. Among them was Mr. Iliff’s team. Mr. Iliff was. informed of (where his team b as- said to be and left for Milwaukee, Monday morning. He found the team and buggy, and obtained possession of them with but little trouble, and will arrive home with them today. The old thief is wanted in many places, and it is said that he has stolen 10GQ horses during hia career.
