Democracy is dreadfully damaged, but Populism is absolutely destroyed. To a-1 intents and purposes it is as dead as the old Greenback party, which preceded it. Missouri, (‘ poor old Missouri” no longer,) Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia, all redeemed from the blight of Democracy; and Colorado, Kansas. South Dakota and Oregon all cured of their Populistic non compos! Verily, there is no limit to the magnitude of the Republican victory.
