ABOUT ALFRED McCOY.

In view of the rid culous and exaggerated account of Alfred Me Pay *a campaign methods thrt has been circulated through the city pepers, and copied in one of the local papers, we * republish the following, much more truthful, and more appreciative sketch of Mr. McCoy’s admirable traits of character, from the Delphi Journal. HON. ALFRED MC COY. The feature of the campaign in Jasper county that is attracting more attention than any other are the speeches of Hon. Alfred McCoy, who is known to many' readers of the Journal. Mr. McCoy has made a canvass of that county that for earnestness and enthusiasm on the part of both speaker and audience have never had a parallel in that county. Where h : s meetings are on the railroad Mr McCoy' charters a sptc al train and takes everybody who wants to go, and all his meetings are enlivened with music from a glee club and brass band. Mr. McCoy is known to every man woman and child in Jasper county they all have confidence in him. His words, although not put with the grace and ease of a professional orator, are eloquent in the foie fulness of truth. His heart is as tender cs a child’s, and Inst winter his large purse was open to all the hungn and suffering in Jasper county.
