LAKE COUNTY REDEEMS HERSELF.
Our adjoining sister county of Lake speaks right out loud for protection to her great manufacturing interests at Hammond, East Chicago and Whiting, es the following telegram j>i*t received by Capl. Marshal! will show. “Lake county over thirteen bundr- d repub! can. We have got every thing.” C. J. Daugherty. fiery. R j p. C. C. InMilroy Keener and Jordan tps. Populism has swallowed Democracy, bodily. Iu Union towi ship the sam<>.is nearly true. And all over the county, as the returns will show, the populist*movement hus drawn from the Democrats much more than from the Republicans. The Democratic leaders labored, by every means, fair or foul, to assist the spread of Populism in this county, under the belief that it would hurt the Republicans and help thorn. The result is a striking instance of falling into the pit dug for the feet of others. Of being hit iu neck by their own boomerang.
