Clarence Babb is very sick with typhoid'fAver. His father and mother are there helping to care for him. Geo. Worden’s are rejoicing in the advent of a new member to their family. It arrived Friday and is a boy, we believe. Mrs. E. Heath has been very sick but is now out of danger. Miss Maud Shaw, of Lafayette, spent last yyeek yvith her sister, Mrs, A. Harris,
Among the improvements around town we notice the graveling of the Wolcott road, and the one leading past Pheeps to the corporation limits. Tim watering. trough lias also traveled e st and is now located In front of the blacksmith shop.
Mr. Hargreaves is moving infep-the Briggs’ property, recently vacated by Rev. J. D Carson.
Frank Hines now occupies the Garrison house in the north part of town.
A number of the Knights went to W( leott Wednesday night to organize a lodge there. They report a high time. Mrs. E. A. Bn too, received a dispatch Wednesday announcing the death of her father Mr. Dunlap, of Will Co., lil. Mr. and Mrs. Bartno started immediately for 111. They will be absent a week or more. Mrs. W. 11. Shaw is visiting in Englewood and Evansville; Mrs. Jesse Lockwood in Morocco, Mrs. Ed Maxwell in Watseka. The concert at Durand Hall Tuesday evening was one of the most delightful we have ever attended. The music was of a high order*, and was greeted by an attentive and appreciative audience.
Miss Twonctte Parker has come home very much benetitted by her treatment at the surgical institute. Mr. and Mrs. George Chappell are “at home” in their new house, which will soon be completely finished. The Jubileh at the Presbyterian church Sunday evening was a very enthusiastic meeting. The program was “chuckful” of good things prominent among which were the solos by Maude Bowman and Flo McKee. The reports of the delegates were well written and well delivered. We hope the C. E’s will give us some more. To add to the distress of .these “Democratic times” the cholera has broken out among the “porkers” and. quite a number of the farmers are losing valuable animals. Another daughter at Geo. Johnson’s since last week.
