An Effective Speech.
At a meeting of the Temperance Union held in a small Pennsylvania city, some time since, the attendance consisted wholly of white people, with one exception—the pastor of the African M. E. church. He was a full blooded negro, as black as the absence of liirht. The. colored brother was requested to address the meeting, and rising in his place, he gazed, around upon his exclusive white audience solemnly.
