In a Quandary.
Detroit Free Press. The policeman was standing on the corner about midnight, when a belated passenger approached him unsteadily. “I say< Mr. Ossifer,” he said, "how is this anyhow?” “How’s what?” inquired the officer good naturcdly. “This politics.” “What politics?" “That at Washington.” “I don’t quite catch on.” “Why. don’t you know about the legislation that’s going on there?” “Yes.” “Well, that’s what I mean.” “What about it.” The passenger took the officer by the arm. “1 mean thish.” he said, “was if the Senate that passed the sugar bill, or was it the sugar that passed the Senate bill? I’m kind o’mixed this evening.”.. But the officer declined to in terf.-rc.
