The Soldiers' Reunion

WAS SUCCESSFUL AND f PLEASANT TO THE LAST* Complete Lift cf Tbe Soldiers PresentThe two days joint reunion of the 46th, 48th and 47th regiments closed last Thursday evening. The Cafnp-Fire was the great feature, next to thte meeting of old war comrades, many of whom had not met for years, and some not since the close of tne war.

The Camp-Fire began Wednesday evening, and continued, with some necessary interruptions, until 6 o’clock, Thursday. At the meeting Wednesday evening the principal features yvere the address of welcome, in behalf of all the citizens, by Capt. R. W. Marshall, of the 100 Ill.; and the response, on behalf of the reuniting regiments, by Gen. Jasper Pachard, of the 48th, of New Albany. ET—Following these, and all through the various sessions of the CampFire were short addresses and were r eminiscenses, by numerous comrades, and all interspersed by music. There were songs by the Rensselaer male quartette, music by the Rensselaer band, and by the fine 14 piece band from Rose Lawn. In the matter of vocal songs, Morris A. Jones, of Brook, and Newby, of the 2nd Mo. Cavalry, were the great stand-bys. Col. Hammond presided at the W edeesday evening session of the camp-fire, and Capt. Marshall at the subsequent sessions. At tbe regimental meetings the 48th and 87th regiments decided to meet again jointly next year. T he place of meeting being Argus, i n Marshall County, and the time Sept. 19th and 20th. The 19tli is the 33rd anniversary of the 48th’s first great battle, at luka ; Miss., and the 19th and 20th are the 32nd anniversary of the 78th’s first big fight, that of Chicamauga. Capt.
