OBITUARY.
ADAM COPPESS. Adam Coppess, son of Adam and Mary Crppess, was born in Green Co., Ohio, March Bth, 1812, died Aug. Bth, 1894, aged 82 years, 5 months. He moved to Darke Co., Ohio, when 8 years of age. Was married to Elizabeth Oliver April alb, 1838. From this union there were born ten children all of whom, except one, still survive. Father Coppess moved to Gillam tp., Jasper county, Indiana, in Sep., 1851, where he has since lived. Joined the M. E. church about 50 years ago., and has since tried to live a consistent Christian. For the past four and a half years he has been entirely blind. Through these years of darkness and through bis last sickness, which continued for nine weeks, he was very calm and patient. He said he had lived long enough and was ready to go at the Master’s call. The religious services were held at the Independence chapel, conducted by Rev. Sebring, after which the remains were laid away in the cemetery- .
