REMINGTON ITEMS.
Born, Monday, May 7th, to Dr. and Mrs. Ramsey, a six pound girl. Friday, May, 11, to Mr. and Mrs. Ferry Carson, a son. Mr. and Mrs. Lamborn have been spending a few days in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Murphy are visiting the latter’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Harris, of Lafayette, are visiting their relatives here. Mrs. Belle Skiff, of Watseka, 111., spent a Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Brewster. Mrs. Geo. Cross and daughter Miss Helen, are visiting Mrs. Cross’ sister, Mrs. Cooper. Mr. E. A. Bartoo who had a severe attack of the quinsy last week, is now quite well again. Mr: Wilson, the presiding elder of this district will be at the M. E. Church next Saturday evening and Sunday Morning, for the regular quarterly meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Benedict came to attend the funeral of the latter’s mother, Mr McKee. Mr. Benedict will spend a couple of weeks here before returning home. There was a pleasant gathering of a score of little people at Mabel Lambert’s home, last Friday evening, to celebrate her twelfth birthday. Those present report a good time. Miss Ola Dickey who has been spending the winter with her sister Mrs. L D. Carson and attending school here, has returned to her home in Brookston. Mrs. Carson and baby went with her for a short visit. The lecture Wednesday night by Miss Matilda Fletcher on the subject “Is man an angel?” was very interesting. Miss Fletcher is a very able and influential speaker and held the attention ‘of her audience from the beginning to the end.
Next week promises to be a week of unusual interest, as the “May School” under the auspices of the Kpworth League begins next Monday. Last Saturday being the seventieth anniversary of Mr. Morekead’s birth- j day his friends to the number of twenty-five gathered at his home and j passed a very pleasant day, not the most unimportant event lining the sumptuour rejiast -furnished by Mrs. Moreh' ad. In the evening a number of the company wont out ,to John' , Jordan’s to celebrate the fifty-nineth anniversary of his birthday.
