Texas Siftings. Col. Yerger does not think it is right to bestow promiscous charity. A few days ago a beggar met him, and applied to-him lor pecuniary assistance. After considerable reflection, Col. Yerger responded with a reluctant quarter and an expression of sympathy. “Thank you, Colonel,” said the tramp. “I reckon you know how a fellow feels who has no education and has to beat his way through the world.”
