Zimri Dwiggins' Case Sent to Warren County.
Last week, at Fowler, Judge Wiley granted a change of venue to Zimri Dwiggins, on his indictments in the Oxford Bank matter. The case was sent to Warren county. Mr. McConnell, cashier of the bank, elected to be tried in his own county. Speaking of Mr. Dwiggins' case, the Fowler Leader says: There are three indictments against Zimri Dwiggins, (1) receiving deposits in a known insolvent bank; (2) stealing, embezzling and selling $lB,000 of gravel road bonds and embezzling the money ; (3) stealing and embezzling the [Reed deposit]sß,ooo. The latter indictment is barren by the statueof limitations. Each transaction, it is claimed by defandent’s attorneys, to be a matter of record in the books of the Commercial bank, and that the happened more than two fears ago. The charge for receiving money in an insolvent bank is answered by the statement that Dwiggins, at the time was in Chicago and it is not yet known that the Commercial Bank of Oxford is insolvent.
