Mis. Bunnell is very sick with a lung trouble. Bert Shepherd who has been wintering inJDakota, has returned home. Miss Adah Wilson has been quite sick but at present is some better, Ona Marquess is also sick with pneumonia. Miss Mae Landon, of Momence, 111., is visiting her uncle, Dr. Landon. Mr, and Mrs. H. J. Bartoo, of Rensselaer, visited their parents over Sunday.^, The whooping-cough is in town and barking is very lively just at dresent. Miss Pearl Guy is quite sick with pneumonia, She is not at present considered in a very dangerous condition. A sister of Mr. Elias Hollingsworth was killed near Anderson, last week. She was driving across the railroad track, and the cars struck her. John Major came near having a serious fire at his home last week. It caught in some way from a pipe running through the floor. It was discovered in time so that the result was only the loss of some clothing and the carpet. Mr. Will Price a former resident of this place, was killed at his home in Hartford City last week. He was helping put in place a large boiler in the paper mill where he had been working, when the blocking under it gave way pinning three of the men fast. Mr. Prige was so badly injured that his death resulted on Saturday. The accident occurred Thursday. The other two men were not seriously hurt. The funeral was held there and the remains buried at that city. He leaves a wife, formerly Miss Mary Draper of this place, and one child —a little girl about ten years of age. Neither his father nor his mother were able to go to Hartford City as Mr. Price Sr., is very sick and his wife could not leave him.
