They Are Leaving Rapidly.
A good many foot prints lead out of the Democratic party nowadays. Ex-Mayor Thompson, of Detroit, for many years a party leader and worker, has publicly renounced the party which, he says, “has demonstrated its absolute incapacity to conduct national affairs.” General Torrence, of New York, says that during a recent trip to California and the southeast he personally talked with at least one thousand late Democrats who would not vote the ticket again. He himself voted for Cleveland, but says he has had enough of that statesman. During his trip he found the disgust among Democrats widespread, and among all classes.—lndianapolis Journal.
