A SPECIAL SESSION.
~ The County Commissioners had a special meeting last Friday, to act on the matter of letting the contract for the grade to the new bridge over the Kankakee river, north of DeMotte. Commissioners Taber and Martindale present, Faris absent. The contract for the grade was let to Morris Nelson, for $2,285. Of this sum Keener tp., contributes $75 payable in labor. The county pays the balance. The grade is to be completed by Jan. let, 1895. The coutract for 277 lineal feet of pile bridging, in. the approaches to the bridge, was let to John Hack, of Lowell, the same party who is building the main bridge. The contract price is $3,24 per lineal foot, or $1000.25 for the entire contract. J. F. Bruner, trustee of Keeper tp. is superintendent of the construction of both grade and bridge 3. The Board also contracted with J. D. Adams dk Co., of Indianapolis to build an “I beam” iron bridge, In Carpenter tp , over a branch of Carpenter’s creek, on the road between sections 23 and 24, tp. 27, range 7. The contract price is $245.80.
