“We’uns Smoke.”

Lexington, Ky., Transcript. At the Southern depot the colored woman who has charge of the waiting room was horrified to see a white, -woman take a pipe from her pocket, fill it with tobacco, and, after lighting it, proceed to puff away in evident enjoyment of a long continued habit. As no one is allowed to smoke in the waiting room the waitress hurried over to where the East Tennessean was enjoying her smoke and informed her that it was against the rules to smoke in tiie room. The native of the mountains was not disconcerted in the least, but picking up her traps she marched out on the platform, saying as she went that she had never seen such orders iq her life afore. “Whar I cum from,’’ said she, “they never make we'uni stop smokin’ or drinkin’ neither.”
