FROM WHEATFIELD.

Too latefor last week. Business is slow in Wheatfield at present. Wheatfield had its usual New Year’s Ball last Monday night. The Big Four road has leased the 1.1.1, railroad, we understand. H. Marble has sold his store at Wheatfield to the Allen Bros., a few miles east of town. - ■ - Mr. Garrison, north of Wheatfield, lost two horses last week. It left him with but one horse for work. The C. I, C. R. R. men stopped their train the other day to take part in a shooting match. The road must have lots of business. Roads are deep with in nd, where they were worked last fall. The fall road work always makes bad roads whenever there comes a slight thaw. The schools of this township commenced Tuesday morning after the holiday vacation. Scholars and teachers feel Refreshed and are ready for increased efforts. A party of young people watched the old year out and the new year in last Sunday evening and ushered in the new year by making night hideous by firing off guns etc. One of the business men* thought thieves were trying to break in his safe, and started after them, but found out his mistake.
