The trial of Elder Disney for assaulting a young man named Wood, near Ashboro. in the south part Of Clay county, came up at'Clay City, Tuesday afternoon. The preacher was ffned $32. . lle admits that he struck young Wood but said he did so after the young man had drawn a club. The attorneys for the defense immediately appealed the case to the Supremo Court. Two weeks ago, while preaching at a revival meeting near Ashboro, Mr. Disney left his pulpit to quell a di-tnrbance outside of the church. Several young men were quarreling and when the minister ordered them to be quiet they refused. Mr. Disney struck Wbod a fearful blow on the head, inflicting an ugly wound.
