_A ten year old daughter of Reuben R. Dickinson, of Marion tp., south of Rensselaer, died Tuesday morning, of lung fever. Hats reduced to cost at Mrs. Lecklider’s. Elias Strong, of Newton tp., took the train for. the Pacific slope Tuesday. He will be gone several months. Uncle Isaac Sayler, of Newton tp., is improving a little from his late severe and very dangerous sickness. His improvement is very slow, however. B. F. The Parker school, about two miles northeast of Rensselaer, Miss Blanche Alter, teacher, will have a box social, Friday evening, of this week, for the benefit of the Reading Circle books. Squire Burnham tied another of his artistic and extra durable matrimonial knots, in the clerk’s office, Tuesday afternoon. The parties were Mr. James L. Page and Mrs. Ida May Porter, both of Wheatfield township. A Pie Social and Spelling School will be held at the Grant School, Miss Belle teacher, next Saturday night, Dec., 16 th, 1893, for the Reading Circle Books. One Thomas Search, of Kentland, publishes a lurid card in the Enterprise intimated his desire to get his clutches on the individual who has started the story that Search was the fire-bug who started the list fire in Kentland. The Shingles are a good ways from their starting point, from 1600 to 1800 miles as “the crow Hies,” and a good deal further than that as the railroad ‘‘ flies,” and the freight on the car was $168.84. Prof. R. Ingal, scientific optician of 1012 North Halstead Street, Chicago, will be at the Makeever House, one week, commencing Dec. 18th. A Christmas cantata, “How we waited for Santa Claus,” will be presented at the Christian Church, Friday evening, Dec. 22hd. Charley Moody, oldest • son of Granville Moody, of Barkley tp., died' Sunday afternoon, at the age of about 15 years. The cause of his death was paralysis of the heart,resulting from diphtheria. His sickness was mentioned last week, and at that time every indication pointed to his recovery. The 'funeral was held Tuesday, at the residence, and was very largely attended.
