Indianapolis Journal. “Talk about hard times,” said the fat man with the big diamond, “there are business men in this city of whom I have reason to believe that they are starving—or at least do not have enough to eat at home,” “How do you figure that out?" “Well, you see, I run a free lunch in connection with my bar.” Gorham Abbott,of Winsted, Conn., surprised his friends by beginning to talk after being dumb for thirty years.
