Rensselaer Republican, Volume 26, Number 14, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 30 November 1893 — MINISTER THURSTON WILL REMAIN. [ARTICLE]
MINISTER THURSTON WILL REMAIN.
Under the Circumstances HU Official Relations Will Not Be D sturbed. Minister Thurston, of Haw til, Is not likely to recaiva his passports, although It Is said at the State Department that there was abundaut ground for such action. Were It in any other, or In this country under any other cl 'umstances, his passports would be Issued immediately. It la claimed that his letter is a breach of diplomacy and amply sufficient to warrant this Government in im ledlately severing all relations with the Hawaiian Minister. Such action would be taken but for the desire of the adm'nlstratlon to allow a fair and free discussion of tha Haws itn mailer by all parties interested orconcerned.
