REMINGTON ITEMS.
Mr. Cooper, who has been paying a flying visit to his family, has returned to bis pastoral labors in Virginia. During his visit here, he delivered a very able address from the Presbyterian pulpit Mr. Park’s new house in the south part of town is rapidly nearing completion. When finished it will make a very desirable addition to that part of town. Miss Maiy Bellows entertained a number of hf young friends very pleasantly Friday evening at. her home a few miles from town. Mrs. Ellen Lockwood has gone to Chicago, where she will make a home for her grandson, Master Bert Shepherd. Her many friends in this vicinity regret very deeply her departure from their midst, and wish her much happiness in her new home. Last Friday evening as Misses Fanny and Ella Hawkins and Twonnet Parker were returning from the country, their pony became frightened and ran away, injuring the young ladies slightly and the carriage severely. Mr. Thomas, familiarly known as “Jake” met with a serious accident on Tuesday of last week. He was working in a hay loft, and fell through a concealed opening to the ground below —a distance of twentytwo feet. As he struck squarely on both feet it gave both ankles a very severe strain, besides shaking him up considerably, a condition, which a ride home, of twenty miles did not improve. We are glad that he escaped any worse injury. Charlie Hensler is building a new house, to take the place of the one burned last spring, on his farm four miles north of town. The new house will be much larger and in every way a decided improvement over the one he lost. Miss Nellie McGuire’s party, which was held Saturday evening, was a very enjuvable affair. The many friends of Mrs. Draper will be sorry to hear that she has been having sickness in her family since moving to her new home at Hartford City.
