REMINGTON ITEMS.
Mrs. Harris, of Lafayette, is makng a short visit with her grand-par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Shaw. The Epworth League and Christian Endeavor societies held a Union Mass meeting at the M. E. Church 1 ast week, after which the members of the two societies were tendered a reception by Mrs. J. E. Hollett. The reception was a very enjoyable affair.
Miss Anna Derschell spent Saturday and Sunday with her Rensselaer friends. Miss Reznor, of Buffalo, N. Y., is making a short visit with her friends here. Mrs. Ellen Lockwood, who ha? b een in Chicago fcr some time, returned home last week. Mrs. Gibson, one of our old settlers, is still lying at death’s door. N o hopes are entertained of her recovery. She bears her intense pain with remarkable patience. Mr. Burton, who has been laid up for three months from injuries re-
ceived from falling from a bam, made his appearance in the streets for the first time last week. Mrs. Hattie Shepherd went to Chicago Thursday. Miss Harwood who has been visiting her cousin Mrs. Harvey Hartman, has returned to her home in the east. Jake Thomas and wife now occupy their commodious new residence." — Miss Maude Lally now occupies the rooms vacated by Smith & Hargraves, where she has a nice stock of millinery, drugs and notions. Miss Timmons and her school have moved upstairs into the room formerly used as a library. It is hoped
that they will be more comfortable than they were down stairs; and they will certainly have a much pleasanter room. With an enrollment of nearly 280 our schools have only had five tardies in the last month. A load of Remingtonians “took in” the jollification at Goodland Saturday evening. They report a very Interesting time. Estey organa and pianos, and Estey & Camp organs and pianps, on exhibition at C. B. Steward’s.
