Wallace Robinson will move into bis elegant new residence, on north Weston street, to-day. Indiana series school books sold at B. F. Fendig’s. J. D. Brosnahan, of Rockford, Washington, is visiting his wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John English, in Barkley tp.

Last Thursday Mrs. Eliza Lebo, living near Winamac, committed suicide by hanging. Two weeks before her son, P. I. Lebo, went the suicide route, by drowning. John Irwin removed to Brook, Newton Co., last Thursday, where he will follow his old .vocation, black - smithing. He sold his residence here to Albert Hammond.

Rev. E. L. Conner will preach at the Church of God next Sunday morning and evening. The last pre - vious announcement was a mistake, but in this case, Mr. Conner has him - self made the appointment and authorized its pnblication.

All the neighboring towns around Muncie have established quarantines against that town, to head off the small pox. In Muncie it is again claimed that the disease is under control and will not spread any further. A western editor apologizes to his readers after this fashion: “We expected to have a death and a marriage to publish this week, but a violent storm prevented the wedding, and the doctor being sick himself the patient recovered, accordingly we were cheated out of both.”
Dr. Patton’s position in the Cherokee strip is receiver of public moneys, and not register of the land office, as has been generally stated.

Rev. H. V. Weaver has been compelled by poor health to temporarily give up the ministerial labors in which he was meeting with such remarkable success, and rest from it for at least a year, and during the interval will earn his living at his old vocation barbering, having formed a business relationship with Robt. Phillips.
An official statement of the smallpox situation, at Muncie, gave the total number of cases that had occurred there, up to last Saturday, at 102, with four deaths. To these may be added two more cases, which developed Sunday. Warner and Shead, the new grocery firm. Give them a trial.
The Lake county grand jury, Fridry, returned 29 indictments against principals and referees of the five fights that were fought and officers of the Columbian athletic club. They .were found under the riot and conspiracy act of 1889. They will be tried this term of court. Dexter A Cox have a new hand hay press. Give them a call when you want a cheap bale of hay. Willie Carter, the young colored boy who rides J. G. Reynolds’ horses in the races, was very badly hurt, at Morocco, last Friday, by his horse falling while in a race. He was brought to Rensselaer Monday, and is now at Mr. Reynolds’ residence. He is terribly cut and bruised about the head and face.

An appeal has been taken in the case of Parker and McAfee the two colored men from Indianapolis, under sentence to be hung in the northern penitentiary Nov. 3rd. They are the first men sentenced to death in in this state since the law was passed requiring condemned murderers to be executed in the state prisons.

The most cherished ornament of Cook A Whitby’s circus, at least from a newspaper man’s point of view, is Willis Cobb, the veteran press agent. He is indeed, a genius of geniality and will be pleasantly remembered by the newspaper men- along his route, long after the name of the fdrcus he represents is forgotton.
- And still another change is impending in the management of the Nowels House. The Misses Comer will move back into the Kohler house, south of the court house, and will be succeeded in the Nowels House by Elijah Wood, of the Arlington House,at Monon. The change will be made next Saturday. Mr. Wood is a practical hotel man, of many years experience.
Vick keeps his lunch counter supplied with the best and serves fine meals. The fellow who robbed Holtam, the Reynolds saloon keeper, and was afterwards captured at Cincinnati, but was released, was again caught in a town in New York, from having written to a girl near, Wolcott, at whose father’s place be worked a week, before committing the robbery. He was brought back to Monticello, and last week was convicted and given a five years term in the penitentiary.
