GAS BELT ELECTRIC.

A Big Scheme—Revolution in Inland Transportation. The Indianapolis Sentinel is authority for the statement that the recent franchise granted to the electric railway at Noblesville is but the initiatory step toward the organization of a vast system of electric lines to connect Indianapolis, Broad Ripple, Noblesville, Anderson, Muncie, Elwood, Kokomo, Marion and all intervening points. Noblesville is -to be the central point of the system. Double tracks will be laid to Indianapolis. Balance of lines will be single track. Right of way to the business portion of Indianapolis has already been secured. Nine hundred and fifty thousand dollars of the $1,000,000 capital are already paid in. Passenger fares will bef&ducedto a very low rate. Farmers along the route are said to be enthusiastic in its favor, as the danger from sparks, as on steam railways, will be removed. Freight will also be transported on especial cars, principally at night. The scheme looks wellon paper.
