WHOLESALE POISONING.
Five deaths have occurred in the family of Charles Koerster, of Indianapolis, since last October. The last death, that of his mother, occurred on the 22d. Mr. Koerster became convinced that his family had been poisoned and an investigation resulted in the arrest of Annie Wagner, a domestic in his employ. Much damaging evidence has already been procured against her. An analysis of the stomach of Mr. Koerster’s mother disclosed the presence of arsenic. Thursday evening Mr. Koerster’s five-year-old son was* thrown from a horse and fatally injured. The parties are all German, the servant girl being unable to thoroughly understand English. She maintains a stolid demeanor, and claims not to understand what the trouble is about. The evidence is positive as to her having purchased “Rough on Rats,” which she as positively 1 denies.
