The Monon’s New Shops.

Everything is now in readiness for the building of the new shops of the Louisville, New Albany <fc Chicago, at Lafayette, even to the money, and General Manager McDoel says that when completed the Monon will have as good shops as any road in Indiana. Not including the round house, the floor room of the new building will cover 124,190 square feet. The plans contemplate a machine shop 210x95 feet, boiler shop 95x90, blacksmith shop 95x90, car shop 210x95, paint shop 100x80, engine room 50x--60, office and store room 150x50 and two stories high.* The round house will contain twentv stalls, and there will be a transfer table 340x66 feet. There are several other buildings ranging from 20 to 30 feet in length | and width.
