Mrs. William Astor’s fondness for flowers is well known among her intimates. “Lilies,” she is quoted as saying, “are my favorites, and I would rather see them growing than pick and wear them. Somehow a flower loses its charm for me when its little life is cut off. It looks sad and sorry and seems to wilt with grief.” If gentle Annie had to wait until the spring time came this season she has probably called the match off. Rheumatism knocked higher than a kite. Mr. J. N. Bucher, Mineral Point, 0., deposes and says: “I have used Salvation Oil for rheumatism, and in one or two applications knocked it higher than a kite,” ___ The quinine manufacturer seldom complains of his bitter lot.
