That Mysterious Stabbing Case Again
miles south of town, called upon us one day last week and requested the publication of the statement signed by Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Thornton, which appears below. They are the parent? of Miss Daisy Thornton, the young lady who was stabbed in so mysterious a manner, one day last summer, while engaged in a playful frolic with some other young people; a circumstance which most of our readers will remember. Mr. Williams, who banded us the statement, is the father of Arthur Wiliiams, the young man whom circumstances at the time seemed to indicate as the person who did the stabbing. He has always firmly asserted his innocence, however, and now the parents of Miss Thornton, who for a long time believed young Williams was the guilty party, have had cause to change that Opinion, as their following statement shows; _ Mr. Henry Williams, DearSir r _ We believe that your son Arthur is not guilty of stabbing Miss Daisy Thornton, as it was supposed. Yours Respectfull /, J. H. and Jane Thornton.
