WE GO BY STEAM!

For the first time in the history of Jasper county a printing office within its limits is now supplied with steam power. The Republican hasjast installed in its printing room a very handsome and very highly improved steam engine, of one horse power size, and we now print the paper and run the job press by steam power. The engine is made by Olds <fc Son, of Lansing, Mich., and it is a daisy. In spite of its small size, it runs with perfect ease both newspaper and job presses, at the same time, printing four pages of the paper and a full form on the job press, on a steam pressure of less ‘than 50 pounds'. This engine fills a “long felt want,” in our print-shop, and a want which our large and always increasing subscription list, aud liberal job prilling patronage has made constantly more pressing. Our friends are invited in to see the little engine work. They will always be welcome. Come between 4 and 6 P. M. Wednesday afternoons if you wish to see it hustling our big newspaper press.
