From the Stables of a Genuine “Dooke.”

Momence Press. Percy Taylor a former resident of this place has been the means of making the hearts of the Chicago snobs beat with joy. Percy has a cousin in England who is trainer for the racing stables of the Duke of Beaufort. The two cousins have been in correspondence for some time and as a result the Duke has cabled that he will send his colt “Son of a Gun” over to run in the American Derby at Washington Park. This ’oss ’as honly ha fair record, having won two out of the seven races in which he started last year, but the fact that he is owned by a real duke will at least double the crowd of cane sucking dudes on derby day. The Press suggests that the association of Chicago dudes and Englishapersimmediately present Mr. Taylor with a gold-headed cane, even if they have to pawn their “higlawses doncher naow.”
