WRECK ON THE WABASH.

Collapse of a Bridge at Pern—O. C. Dorlanil of La l’orte, Killed. One of the most disastrous wrecks in the history of the L. E. & W. railway occurred early Friday morning at the Wabash \ river bridge near Peru. The north bound express struck a broken rail on the bridge when it collapsed and the wholo train, except the engine, felt to the river bed. Geo. C. Dorland, of La l’orte, was killed, and all the fourteen passengers were more or less Injured. c As the result of a fight between James A. Sales and A. C. Scott, of Blchmond, patrolman Betzold was called upon to ayrest Sales. Sales showed fight and Betuld used his revolver. The bullet entered. Sales’mouth, emerging at the back of the neck. Tho wound is regardod as a mortal onfc. ________________
