The New Postage Stamps.
The new Columbian postage stamps of the denominations of one and two cents, are hoW familiar objects on letters coming from any of the large cities. The one center represents “Columbus in sight of land” color Antwerp blue. The two centers represent the “Landing of Columbus”, after the painting by Vanderlyn, in the rotunda of the Capitol, at Washington. The stamps are about twice as wide as ordinary stamps, and are very pretty little “chromes,” indeed; Besides these two more common denominations, there have been issued Columbian stamps of the denomination of 3 cents, 4 cents, 5 cents, 6 cents, 10 cents, 15 cents. 30 cents, 50 cents, one dollar, 2 dollars, 3 dollars, 4 dollars, and 5 dollars. Also a Columbian Stamped envelope. These Columbian stamps and stamped envelopes are not intended to displace the present stamps, but will be in addition thereto.
