Negroes Doing Well in Liberia.
A report from the minister resident and consul general to Liberia, recently receive I, speaks very highly of the prospects of the negroes who have recently emigrut d there from the United States. A liberal piece of land is allotted to each immigrant and they are cared for by the colonization society for six months, by which time it is expected they wi I have raised < nough to be self-sup-porting. A few of the negroes, finding that they could not get rich at once .and were expected to work for their living, were disappointed and returned to the United States. The rest are satisfied and have turned their attention to planting colee. which in a few years will yield the n a fine income. One man who went out a few months ago now has a good house built and S,OUU young cotfee trees.
