A New Bridge Contracted For.

At the joint meeting of the Commissioners of Porter aud Jasper counties, last Thursday, at Hammond, the contract was let to John Hack, of Lowell, for a new pile bridge across the Kankakee river, north of DeMotte. The contract price is $783.20. The two counties are to pay the cost of the bridge in projortion to their assessed wealth, which will throw fully two-thirds upon Porter county. Jasper county, however, has to build an approach bridge over a bayou, which is to cost $390, and for which Mr. Hack also has the contract.
