FROM MARLBORO.

One hundred cows were sold at the sale Friday. A. McCoy has bought about seventy five Jersey cows and placed under the care of W. E. Willet who will milk them and send the milk to Chicago. Reed Banta is doing carpenter work here this week. J. R. Phillips has concluded to give the poultry business a triaL He is erecting a.large building and will place several incubators in the same as soon as completed. The Xmas tree at Marlboro has been post-poned until Dec. 25, 1893 A. W. Hopkins, C. C,.Sigler Jr., Jay Zimmerman and Semie Fendig visited the Marlboro school last week. Mr. A. Thomas a mail clerk on the Monon was the guest of Miss Efliie Gwin last Friday. Mrs. Mary A. Robinson visited her daughter Mrs. Emma Phillips last Friday and Saturday. Pearl Armstrong, who has been quite sick, is reported convalescing. Chas. Lefler and wife attended the funeral of their cousin Arthur Lefler of Francesviile. Mrs. Laura Banta a former teacher of Hanging Grove gave the Marlboro school a short call last Friday afternoon. The Hanging Grove Literary and Debating society meet here next Friday night. The creamery question will be debated by A. McCoy and Prof. L. Strong and Jos H. Long and L. H. Hamilton.
