The Methodist bishops have de cided that., the Northwest Indiana Conference, which includes Delphi, must hold its session >n the spring. the ministers will meet on April 12 at Lapbrle with Bishop Merril pnsiding. The spring meeting will result in several changes being rff cU’d. but there will probably be fewer removals of ministers at .he next session than there have i>e» n for tears. —Delphi Citizen. Williams don’t want the earth but hedoHH wa it the f jei iple to know tliat he has the largest stock of furniture »r>d carpet*, in Jasper county. : Nicholas, with his wife, put up at the Goff House, the proprietor of which Siam sized him up fora crook. By a little inquiry he st»on learned that the Mlow was wanted for a highway rob >ery committed in Jeff erson township, Carroll county, upon one Louis Bernhardt. Early Monday morning therefore, Nicholas was arrested by Sheriff B'ue and held until Sheriff Gwm, of Monticello came an'* took him away. Nicholas’ wife was thought to be the same woman who lately dangerously stabbed another woman, with whom she was working in Corn’s packing house, in Marion, but telegrams to that city in regard to her failed to eliet any response. The stabbing was slated by the pa pels to have been committed by Atrnu Divis, which was Mrs. Nicholas’s name before she married Nicholas, last April. Nicholas, who is about 25 years old, seems to be an all-round tough, t f the most pronounced description. He has just got out of jail at Delphi, w here he has been held for a long time, on charge of rape, and was finally released,; more probably on account of the bad character of the woman making the charge, than upon any lack of gnilt upon his own. He is now likely to “go over the road” fora long term.
