Sheriffs Randall of Newton and Blue of Jasper canvassed the vote for Joint Representative, last Wednesday. The majorities for Lyons were, Jasper Pounty 37, Newton county 190. Total 227. These bridges rest ninety feet above the streams, and the stone work they rest on is some of the heaviest masonry in the State, The main thing to talk about from now on is good reads. The farmer not only wants a market for his produce, but he needs good roads to haul it on. Within the next decade there will be a marked improvement in the highways of this country. The new return postal cards are now in circulation. They are about double the size of the old-fashioned postal cards, folding together like a pamphlet, and. perforated so that the one denominated as the “reply postal card’’ can be. detached by the receiver from the card written by tl sender.
