TO ELECT BY DISTRICTS.
The Michigan I,nw Upheld by th* Supreme Court. The United States Supreme Court boa decided that the law of Michigan, dividing the State into districts for the election of Presidential doctors, is invalid only so far as It.conflicts with tho acts of Congross of 1837, relating to tho time of tbe meeting of the electors. The act is not obnoxious to the provisions of tho constitution conferring upon the State Legislature tbe power to fix the maunerof choosing electors, nor of the fourteenth amendment, and the judgment of the Michigan Supreme Court in upholding the law is affirmed.
