CONSUL HANNA SHOT AT.

A Representative of Our Government in Ranger of His Life. The New York Ilcrald’s cable dispatch from Curacoa, West Indies, on the 7tli, says: News reaches here, from a thoroughly tellable source, to tho effect that .the Venezuelan government forces have recaptured Macula, the watering place, near La Guayra. Tho government gunboats steamed over to the town, which has been occupied by tho Legalists for some timo, and opened fire with their heaviest orduance. The Legalists could notstaud the shelling and soon evacuated the town, which was taken possession of by the government troops. During tho bombardment United States Consul Hanna went to toe scene of the fight, in his naptha launch, and shots were tired at him from the government vessels. Whether It was an intentional insult to the American flag or not is not known at present.
