Poor Ireland.
The Irish World says that when the English Union A«t deprived Irish manufactures ot the protection under which they hod grown find prospered, theie was only one Irish industry that was protected. That was agriculture. When Irish manufactures disappeared, in consequence of English competition, there was nothing isft for the Irish people to do bnt till the land for a living. England was the great market for the products of Irish farms, and that was a protected market for many ye after Ireland had witnessed the destruction of her manufactures. That ia just what Gnat Britain wants to drive ns to free Made. Compel all our people to go to farming, and give them the markets for the manufacturing without competition. And the Democratic partr seems to be helping Great Britain all it can to pat this country In the same condition Inland is in.
