The County Commissioners.

In the matter of the Wheatfield ditch it was held that insufficient notice had been given and leave was given the petitioners to amend their notice. A special session-to act on the In the Iroquois ditch case, the papers were withdrawn, by Thompson & Bro,, attorneys for the petitioners, on account of dissatisfaction with the decision of the Board regarding the appointment of ah engineer. The trustee of Keener tp., having been found to be disqualified for election inspector, on account of relationship toa county candidate, the Board appointed Wm. H. Tyler inspector in his place, John Hack, of Lowell, was given the contract for making 56 rods of road grade south of the proposed new bridge, across the Kankakee river, northwest ofJDeMotte, at $660 or 12 cents per cubic yard. The county tax levy, made at the June session, was amended; 37 cents of the original levy of 40 cents being designated as the levy fpr general county purposes, and the remaining 3 cents being set aside as a gravel road tax, to keep the county gravel roads in repair.
